Jim Breslin addressed our members in February of 2021 and spoke about his experience of beginning a new organisation from scratch. He spoke of how this was at once a very challenging experience but exhilarating in that he and his team did not have legacy issues that acted as a barrier to success. He reminded members of the importance now of balancing the here and now with the longer-term vision. Covid has tested us all and the public service has risen to the challenge, but ultimately, we will and should be judged on how we drive long term change that delivers for our citizens.
